Getting an auto insurance quote for taking your car, RV or motorhome to Mexico is essential. It can be hard to know where to start. Auto insurance rates for Mexico can vary widely in cost and it pays to shop around. It’s easiest to shop for online automobile insurance rates for your RV or motorhome. Some companies are more progressive than others, taking your specific needs into account.
Talk to ten RVers, and you’ll get ten different opinions on whether insurance is required, and if so how much. Our U.S. and Canadian auto insurance quote plans do not cover travel to Mexico. We know some people who insure their RV or motorhome only for the trip down. Once settled in one spot for the winter, they remove the insurance. This is not advised, as your rig is not immune from perils once stationery, such as storm damage and coconuts falling through the skylight (really…this does happen!)
When you get your online auto insurance quote, make sure it includes travel on the roads and also stationary coverage. In Canada, ICBC will reimburse the insured for a portion of the extra insurance purchased for the period the vehicle was in Mexico. Specific documents are required to be eligible for this reimbursement. Check with ICBC, or your private auto insurance quote carrier for their specific details.
For us, the most progressive auto insurance quotes come from San Xavier Mexico Insurance, also known as Mexico Bob. Phone and online automobile insurance rate services and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Insurance quotes and coverage confirmation can often be completed within 24 hours.

It’s never been easier to shop for online automobile insurance rates. It is important to deal with a company which provides progressive auto insurance quotes for the RVer’s special needs while travelling and camping in Mexico.
