Blind Spot Mirror Adjustment

There is a way to adjust existing vehicle mirrors for blind spots in order to eliminate blind spot problems. This is very handy to know while RVing, particularly if trailering, because once an RVer unhooks, a mirror adjustment is often required for driving around town.

That, and not dialing or texting while driving! It is important for young drivers to know how to adjust their mirrors properly as well.

If you have other people sharing the driving of your vehicle, you can go through a quick checklist when getting behind the wheel to make sure your excrusion or errand is a safe one. Before you turn the key:

adjust the seat so you can safely and easily reach the pedals -- no tippy toe braking, ensure you can apply the brake pedal fully with the ball of your foot in the event of an emergency;
adjust the steering wheel so that it does not interfere with your line of sight;
adjust your mirrors, of course, using the YouTube technique below
set your seatbelt to be comfortable -- many vehicles have a height adjustment lever where the seatbelt comes out of the side of the vehicle;
set the radio to your favourite station, or insert a CD before starting the ignition
prepare your phone for handsfree, or if you don't have handsfree, put your phone somewhere easily accessible to use AFTER you have pulled over safely to the side of the road.
