Fishing Log: (10 October 2011) Fished Iman bank today off San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. The water temp was 86.7C. There were quite a few bait boils but the bite was not strong. We saw quite a few yellowfin tuna taking bait at the surface in the 30-40lb range. I am pretty sure I was bitten off once by a wahoo. Took 10 skip jacks and farmed a dorando. About 75% of the boats took one or two fish each of either dorado or yellowfin tuna. One person on the boat caught a fair size needle fish. Hopefully happier hooks next time. . Fishing Log: (12 May 2011) Fished just off of the marina in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Caught and released my first striped marlin today, approx weight was 140lbs. The fish must have spat the hook which ended up in the top dorsal fin with a big loop of line running back around through its mouth and then hooked back on the hook itself. Essentially a big hangman's loop. Also caught a 25lb and 30lb jack cravel and a 3lb rooster fish. A 5lb skipjack was also taken. All fish were released today.
