While the boys have been doing all the fishing, it seems the rest of us have been doing all the eating.
Just for something different and to have a break from fish, we had a Ukrainian Night. June made perogies from scratch and I made the cabbage rolls. It was a big hit and we've decided that this will be an annual tradition.
The girls' book club just finished She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. Again quite bleak and a departure from his usual work. It's an "Oprah Book Club" selection. I think she may have been off her meds when she selected it!
Next year we'll be sure to find the shelf at the bookstore labeled "happy topics" for our book club choices!
Quite different from our experience last year in remote Mexico when we had to resort to some canned meats just to get by (and they tasted terrible, by the way!)
![]() Our travelling companions, John and Cheryl, have already departed for home. We said goodbye with (what else) another party! This time paella was on the menu.
![]() Adrian found an authentic Spanish paella burner at one of the import stores here. The coil burner sits atop a tripod and is perfectly sized to hold a paella pan. He's wanted one for ages,
![]() This 3-month old puppy lives upstairs in our building and regularly stops by our screen door to say hello. She squeaks her little bark until Bailey comes to the door. When she sees Bailey, the puppy twirls and jumps around. Sometimes the pup is dressed in bows and dresses.
Bailey hasn't been feeling very good this winter. At nearly 15 people-years-old, age is catching up with her at a startling rate.
To help her be a bit more comfortable we took her for a chiropractic adjustment and massage. I know what you're thinking…and you're right. Now you've heard everything! ![]() Our local chiropractor is great and has vast experience in adjusting animals, including horses. Bailey enjoyed her massage immensely and seemed to feel better for several days thereafter. It was good to see, so we'll likely take her for another one.
You can see below how relaxed Bailey is after her appointment! She was like a boneless dog!
![]() Our condo complex hosted many long term winter vacationers this year, but the numbers are thinning dramatically as everyone makes their way home.
It is very quiet around the pool these days!
Adrian and I will be the last of our group to head home and it occurred to us that there will be no one left to throw our going away party! But I think that's okay. We could use the rest!
